Battleship needs exactly one thing to be great: an opponent you actually want to beat. Sea Battle 2 brings the pencil-and-paper classic to your phone, and getting an online match going with a friend — or your player two — takes about a minute. Here's the setup.
The 60-second setup
- Install Sea Battle 2 on both phones — it's free on Google Play.
- From the main menu, pick the online “With a Friend” mode.
- Add each other in-game, send the invite, and accept on the other phone.
- Place your fleets and start calling shots — moves sync live between devices.
Friend or player two?
Random matchmaking works, but the game is twice as fun against someone whose exact weaknesses you know. As a duel for two it's a perfect grudge-match format — short rounds, zero learning curve, and a rematch button that gets a workout. More formats like it in games built for exactly two.
What about PC?
Sea Battle 2 is mobile-first. On a computer you'd need an Android emulator, which is more setup than it's worth — two phones and a group chat for the trash talk is the way.
